A Difficult Beginning for Vanga

Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova was born to a poor family in 1911 in Macedonia. At the time, her family had no idea of the incredible predictions she would make about the world later in her life.

Tragically, her mother died when she was very young and her father was shipped off to war so she endured a difficult childhood. However, she overcame her upbringing and ended up gaining international recognition.

Losing Her Vision and Gaining Something Else

Vanga’s life was filled with many tragedies and hardships that most of us can’t imagine enduring. At the young age of 12, she was outside playing with her cousins when a tornado struck and flung her into the air.

She was thrown around and eventually landed in a nearby field in her village. Her family found her covered in dust and dirt and her eyes were completely crusted shut. This was how the poor child began to lose her vision.

Dreams That Can't eb Explained

When she lost her vision she began to develop a vision of a different kind. Venga started to have very strange dreams that she couldn’t explain. These dreams were apparently visions of things that happened in the future.

She began to hone her skills and eventually she became known as Baba Vanga as people became more familiar with her visions. She made a number of predictions over the years, and many of these actually came true.

The Prediction That Caught the World's Attention

People were naturally surprised when Baba Vanga’s predictions began to come true. How could this woman tell the future? There was one vision that came true that really shot her into the limelight and got peoples’ attention.

In 1980, she predicted that Kursk would be “covered with water and the whole world would weep over it. 20 years later, in 2000, a Kursk submarine sank during a practice exercise. Tragically, all 118 sailors on board were killed.

Predicting the Tragedy of September 11, 2001

After the Kursk predictions, she had another vision that caught peoples’ attention. In 1989 she stated, “Horror, horror! The American brethren will fall after being attacked by the steel birds. The wolves will be howling in a bush”.

Apparently, this was a prediction of the tragic falling of the twin towers on September 2001, which was one of the most devastating days in U.S. history. These predictions were starting to gain her a following.

Visions of Natural Disasters

Apparently, Baba Vanga also had the capacity to predict natural disasters as well as major world events. She had a vision of the 2004 tsunami in Thailand that devastated the environment and community. More than 227,898 were killed.

In her own words, the prediction was as follows: “A huge wave will cover a big coast covered with people and towns, and everything will disappear beneath the water. Everything will melt, just like ice.”

Predicting Presidencies

One of her last predictions was that America’s 44th president would be black and sure enough, Barack Obama took his place as the 44th president of the United States. in 2008.

She also alluded to some of the world’s major conflicts, but many of her predictions were vague. Non-believers poked holes in her visions and noted that she also made many predictions that did not come to fruition.

Baba Venga’s Predictions About the Future

In 1979, Baba Venga said “All will thaw, as if ice, only one remains untouched- Vladimir’s glory, glory of Russia.” Babe Venga also alluded to World War Three.

“Russia will not only survive, it will dominate the world.” That is quite the claim that many nations and international citizens may take issue with.

Not All Her Predictions Have Been Correct

Baba Venga’s predictions have not all been correct. Although she was right about America’s first Black president, she also claimed that he would be the country’s last. She also claimed that Europe would cease to exist by the year 2017, though Britain did vote to leave the European Union in 2016.

She also predicted a nuclear war that would last 2010 to 2014, which thankfully was incorrect, as well as the 1994 World Cup having two countries that start with “B” (it ended up being between Brazil and Italy).

Her Predictions Go Until Year 5079

Baba Venga’s predictions go all the way to the year 5079, which is when she claims the world will end. Her predictions become increasingly bizarre as the world progresses. She claims, among many other things, that between 2170 to 2256 a Mars colony will gain earthly nuclear weapons and demand independence from earth.

She says we will have time travel by 2304 and Earth will be uninhabitable by 2341. Sadly, according to Baba Venga, by 4674, humanity will have been completely wiped out.

Not Everyone Believes in Her Mysticism

Many people are skeptical of the blind mystic as there is no real evidence of any prophecies being real, despite many claiming that 85% of her predictions have come true.

Worse for believers, the U.K.’s Daily Express claimed that many of the supposed predictions by Baba Venga were created by Russian trolls. She died in 1996 at 85.
